Katie had a desire to work with animals from a young age. When she graduated from Delaware Valley College in 2002, she was accepted to two vet schools. Due to her grandmom being sick, Katie decided to not go. Life took her on the path of working as a Vet Tech, a Veterinary nutrition District Manager, and then a Veterinary Science High School teacher. Katie has been actively involved in animal rescue for over 20 years which was mostly focused on cats and dogs until she and her family moved to their farm last year. Now Katie also now fosters ponies, goats, pigs, and other animals and owns chickens, too!
She runs a petsitting and grooming business from her home which she shares with her partner, Todd, and their two children, Norah and Levi. They also own two rats, a bunny, and a Cane Corso/Boxer mix dog. Katie recently received her Masters in Humane Education and hopes to use her experience and education to teach children about animal care and farming on her family farm. Katie rotates fosters from Ross Mill on the farm, who are also used in the education programs that she is currently piloting.
