3/26/25 Still available! These pretty girls are doing well on their diet, and new photos have been added! Introducing Cabbage and Turnip! They are a bonded sister pair of outdoor pigs in need of a new home. Their original owner moved and wasn't able to take them, so the parents took the girls in. Unfortunately, they are too large for the small fenced area. As can be the case for piggies confirmed to smaller pens, they are more destructive, and a larger area where they have the ability to roam a bit more would be ideal for them.
Both Cabbage and Turnip do well with the kids they have met, all over 8 years of age. They have no issues with dogs, are ok with horses, and don't really have any experience with other animals. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) They are current on routine vet care and up to date on shots, but are not spayed.
Turnip is the leader and very outgoing, while Cabbage is shy (unless she is in heat). They both love being pet and belly scratches. They can sit on command, and are mostly happy roaming in the field and getting treats. They are both food oriented and could learn more tricks.
Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.
These girls are not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
