Jelly (&Sammie) in Huntington Beach, CA
Jelly (&Sammie)

Jelly & Sammie are a sweet bonded pair of pigs in need of a new home. Unfortunately, the area they live has a one pig limit, and their human was told they had to get rid of one of them - rather than break up a bonded pair, we are trying to find a new home where they would be able to stay together. Both do well with other animals and live with dogs, cats, and chickens. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) Jelly gets frenzied around food and accidentally bites, so caution should be used with kids. Sammie is shy with kids at first, but is great with all ages one she warms up. They live outside now, but are harness trained and housebroken. Both know sit and spin.

Jelly loves scratches, especially belly rubs. He wants to be near you all the time and “help” with chores, gardening, or whatever his person is doing. Sammie loves belly rubs and scratches; she'll let you pet her all day. She's calm and respectful, and she's very gentle when taking food. She's curious, but not destructive and doesn't root very much.

Transportation is available within 3 hours of Orange County to the new home.

Jelly is neutered, but Sammie is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay her prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/

Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.

Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
