Miss Piggy in Doylestown, OH
Miss Piggy

Miss Piggy had a traumatic start to life and her mom wants to find a home for her where she'll have friends. When she was around 35lbs and a couple of months old, she was tossed out of a car window on the road. The neighbors witnessed the event and asked her mom if she would take the pig in. She's still skittish and afraid of people, but does warm up when offered food. She is very sweet once she warms up. She allows her mom to touch her everywhere and loves her belly rubbed.

Her mom said: I take care of her now, love on her, but because I moved my horses to a boarding barn, she is by herself. I have cats in the barn, and dogs regularly smell her, etc. She has gotten used to it. She did have a chicken best friend, but the chicken passed away, and now she is all by herself all the time. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.)

Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements. She does not travel well; they tried to get her into a horse trailer, but she fought so hard, they couldn't get her in.

It's assumed Miss Piggy is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. She may need a diet first.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/

Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
