Pearl in Marion, IN
Pearl

5/26/25 Still available and new photos added! Pearl's mom recently passed away suddenly & unexpectedly. The family is not zoned to have her, so they need to urgently find a new home for this adorable girl to live. Pearl was very loved & spoiled by her mom. She lived with 3 cats and a dog and did well with all of them and often slept with them. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) She is perfectly house broken, trained to use doggie door along with the cats and dog, and has never had any potty accidents inside. She will sit for food or treats and takes them very gently. She is very good with children of all ages. Pearl is current on routine vet care, up to date on shots, but is NOT spayed and will need to be.

The family said this about her: She has a lot of character; great personality has never been aggressive. Tries to throw fits when she does not get her way and will bug you until you give in. She loves to shred plastic bags and try to make her a bed with them. She is very attentive when she hears any kind of bag like her pellet bag, dog food bag, or even chip bags. And she loves toes and feet!

Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.

Pearl is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. Altering piggies when they're young is safer and usually less expensive than waiting until it becomes a problem or a medical emergency. She may need to be on a diet first before she can be spayed, and you should discuss this with your vet.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/

Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.

Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
