Pebbles came to Ross Mill Farm from a recent rescue after a barn caught fire. There are a few pigs from the same rescue all currently living in this pen: Peppa, Pebbles, Oopsie (all unspayed females), and Cillian (neutered male), as well as Cyrus (neutered male piglet) in the quarantine pen next door.
Pebbles is a bit more shy than her more outgoing pen-mates Cillian & Oopsie, but she seems friendly enough to walk around the pen with multiple new people and not run away. She's curious about people and what's going on, she just wasn't quite as brave as the others. With just a little more time, we're sure she'll start to get more social and learn the value of strangers (the value is belly rubs, in case you were wondering - belly rubs always win the shy ones over!).
Pebbles is not yet altered, but will be before adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. She will have an adoption fee.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
