Penelope in Union City, GA
Penelope

Penelope is a wonderful indoor piggy who is crate trained and housebroken. She's excellent with all people and kids, as well as with dogs. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) She will sit for a snack. Like most pigs, she can be stubborn. Penelope will sometimes pee if she doesn't get her way. If you're trying to bring her in in the evening and she isn't done outside yet, she will not come in. Penelope is safe and has adjusted to staying outside on her own. She is staying in her pen by choice more often and seems happier outside unless the temperature drops or she asks to come inside. An in-out home like what she currently has, or a home where she's fully outside (but with a pig buddy to hang out & cuddle with) would work for her.

Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.

Penelope is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. She may need a diet before she can be safely spayed.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/

Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
