Pickles is a stray who was rescued (twice, really!) by a wonderful human who sadly isn't able to keep him permanently, but wants to make sure he finds the loving home he deserves!
His rescuer said this about Pickles: He was abandoned in the mountains near my home and was roaming the area for 3 weeks before he came into my care. I was driving home, and he was running down the busy highway. I had to call animal control to assist with getting him to safety. The thought of him getting put to sleep at the shelter did not sit right with me, so when he was nearing his last day, I adopted him with the intention of finding him a good home. [He's currently living on rented property with a family member.] Shortly after he arrived, we discovered that he was not, in fact, neutered. We were very fortunate to get him neutered at our vet last week, and he is healing well. We have had Pickles for about one month.
He enjoys being pet, but he’s a little stinker still so we’re waiting for his hormones to calm down. but we think he enjoys it. We like to scratch him a lot. He talks to us so we assume that he enjoys our company. My mom likes to give him fruits and vegetables and buy interactive toys for him. We’re just really hoping to find him a pig friend. I’ve enclosed several new pictures as well [photos added]. He’s put on some weight since we’ve rescued him. His ribs were showing when we rescued him.
This handsome boy is a very smart pig. He was just neutered, and it takes a little bit for hormones to get out of the system, so they are looking forward to see more of his personality (and less of those hormones!) soon. Because of the recent neuter, he can't go somewhere with unaltered females until mid-May (males are still fertile potentially for a month or two post-neuter).
Transportation is available to the new home.
