Charlotte and Piggysaurus are two friendly outdoor pigs in need of homes - together or separately - due to their family moving and being unable to take them. They are both good with kids and have been around with kids 5+ years old and a special needs guy (30 years). They do well with other animals and share the yard with an adult husky, two little dogs (between 5-10lbs), chicken, ducks, and occasionally a cat who wanders through. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.)
Charlotte is a Göttingen pig. She's a nice pig that knows her name. She's independent, but also loves to get washed and receive belly scratches. She loves fruit, as well!
Piggysaurus is a kune kune mix. He's a super sweet pig. He comes to you when you have a bucket (food) and loves to be scratched!
Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.
Charlotte is already spayed, but Piggysaurus is not altered so arrangements must be made to neuter him (if you want them both) prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Neutering prevents behavior issues and eliminates that classic boar odor. Altering piggies when they're young is safer and usually less expensive than waiting until it becomes a problem or a medical emergency.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
