Rosie in Harrisburg, IL
Rosie

9/25/25: Still available! Rosie is a wonderful pig and a great pet! She always has her tail wagging and loves a good belly rub! She needs a good home that can afford to give her a better quality of life she deserves. She is in need of vet care for eyelashes that grow inward and irritate the eye (entropion), but her family is unable to afford this.

While Rosie hasn't been around a whole lot of children, she's pretty good with everybody she has met. She does well around other animals like dogs & cats. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) She is an outside pig who has a shelter in a small backyard in town. Her family would love for her to have more space and maybe ever a pig friend to keep her company. She hates getting muddy or wet and she doesn't really like to eat her vegetables.

Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.

Rosie is not altered so arrangements must be made to spay prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Spaying prevents unwanted litters, curbs behavior problems, and prevents uterine tumors. Altering piggies when they're young is safer and usually less expensive than waiting until it becomes a problem or a medical emergency.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/

Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.

Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
