Winston is a young intact male who likes to run around and dig. He was taken in by the current home 2.5 months ago, but he's a bit more than they anticipated. He's done well with the 5-year-old child in the family, as well as with dogs. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) Winston is in need of a home where he'll be able to get neutered and get those pesky hormones out of his system.
Transportation is available within 60 miles to the new home.
Winston is not altered so arrangements must be made to neuter prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Neutering prevents behavior issues and eliminates that classic boar odor. Altering piggies when they're young is safer and usually less expensive than waiting until it becomes a problem or a medical emergency.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
