Napoleon is an unaltered male who is blind. He's a nice boy, but since he's vision impaired, he startles easily if he doesn't realize you're there. That said, he's a sweet guy with his family and they've never had issues with him, he just gets spooked if you surprise him. Napoleon does well with dogs, but has no experience around cats. (Dogs and pigs should always be supervised and never left alone when together.) He also does well with the kids in the home.
Napoleon is one of 9 pigs in need of a home. There are also two more males: 2 y/o Pokey who is a cryptorchid (one testicle was removed, the other didn't descend & needs surgery to remove); and 6 m/o Bubba Jay. The females are: 3.5 y/o Petunia who is the momma; four 2 y/o females (Knotty & Spotty, Maysea and Staysea) all living together in one stall; and a single 6 m/o girl piglet named Fatty Patty. All are intact, but separated (no more unwanted pregnancies!), and in need of homes.
Transportation is not available, so the adopter will need to make arrangements.
Napoleon is not altered so arrangements must be made to neuter prior to adoption. Intact pigs do not make the best companion animals. Neutering prevents behavior issues and eliminates that classic boar odor. Altering piggies when they're young is safer and usually less expensive than waiting until it becomes a problem or a medical emergency.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete the application and mention the name, city, and state of the pig(s) you're interested in: https://www.pigplacementnetwork.org/online-adoption-application/
Qualified homes must 1) be in a zone friendly community, 2) locate a vet that will care for pet pigs, 3) own their home.
Donations to PPN are greatly appreciated so we can continue to help pigs.
